CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

Stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

If you live alone and you have symptoms stay at home for 7 days from when your symptoms started.

If you live with others, all household members must stay at home for 14 days. The 14 day period starts from the day when the first person in the house became ill.

DO NOT GO TO A GP SURGERY, PHARMACY OR HOSPITAL.

THIS ACTION WILL HELP PROTECT OTHERS IN YOUR COMMUNITY WHILST YOU ARE INFECTIOUS.

Plan ahead and ask others for help to ensure that you can successfully stay at home. Ask your employer, friends or family to help you to get the things you need to stay at home.

Stay at least 2 metres (about 3 steps) away from other people in your home whenever possible.

Sleep alone, if that is possible.

Wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds, each time using soap and water.

Stay away from vulnerable individuals such as the elderly and those with underlying health conditions as much as possible.

You do not need to call NHS 111 to go into self-isolation.

If your symptoms worsen during home isolation or are no better after 7 days contact NHS 111 online - www.111.nhs.uk

If you have no internet access, you should call NHS 111. For a medical emergency dial 999.

Medication collection

In line with dispensaries and pharmacies in the Bridgwater area, we will now be open for collections between the hours of 09:30 - 11:30 and 16:00 - 18:00

we ask that you allow 3 working days before collecting medication.

If you are aged 70 or over and need to collect medication from the surgery, please try to find a neighbour, friend or family member who can collect it on your behalf.

If you do not have anyone that can collect for you, please contact the surgery on 652335 and we will do all that we can to help you.

For patients living in Stogursey

Due to COVID-19 the Thursday afternoon surgery at the Church Rooms has been CANCELLED for the foreseeable future.  Please contact the practice on the main line if you require to speak to a doctor.  The closure will be reviewed regularly based on the advice issued by the UK Government.

Medication collections from the village Spar shop has temporarily been suspended.

From week commencing 30th March 2020, a volunteer will be collecting the medication from the surgery and will be making the delivery to the patients home each Thursday. 

For patients living in Combwich

Due to COVID-19 the medication collections from the Post Office has temporarily been suspended.

If you usually collect your medication from the Post Office, there will now be a door to door delivery service. Deliveries will be on a Thursday/Friday - please ensure that you are at home to receive the delivery, otherwise your medication will be returned to the surgery and you will need to make alternative arrangements for collection.

This service is being provided by volunteers coordinated by Cannington United Benefice (St Mary's Church).

For patients living in Spaxton

For those patients that usually collect medication from Spaxton Community Stores, this is set to continue.

Please note the new Community Stores opening hours:

Monday to Friday  - 09:00 - 18:00

Saturday - 08:30 - 12:30

If you are unable to collect your medication from the Community Stores, please contact us we will be able to signpost you to the temporary volunteer delivery service.

Access

There is good access for the disabled to all of our consultation rooms. A designated parking bay is adjacent to the surgery entrance and the surgery has a ramp and wide electronic doors to allow for wheelchair access and people with limited mobility.
