We have locum doctors employed to cover for our doctors when they are absent for holiday, study or illness.
We are a training practice so we may have a registrar with us for 6 or 12 months. The registrar is a fully qualified doctor but they use the time with us to learn about GP practice before embarking on a career as a GP.
Periodically, we have 4th or 5th year medical students spending time with us. With your consent they observe during consultations and may sometimes carry out part or all of the consultation themselves, under the guidance of your doctor. We will understand if you refuse to consent to this; it is your choice
The Practice Manager is responsible for all aspects of running the Health Centre. if you have any comments, complaints or suggestions about the organisation of the practice, please speak or write to her.
Deputy Practice Manager
Our experienced team of secretaries, receptionists and dispensers do much of the administration for the practice. They will do their best to help you and can be relied upon to maintain confidentiality. They may have to judge the urgency of your request so please try to give them whatever information they ask for.
The midwife runs an antenatal clinic at the health centre every other Thursday and women can be seen at Quantock Medical Centre on the alternate week. She is also based at the Mary Stanley Wing of Bridgwater Hospital Tel: 01278 436774.
A team of district nurses provide care for housebound people with a serious illness or disability. This care is arranged by the Doctor or the hospital. Please contact the health centre if you need to leave a message for the district nurses. The district nurse's hub number is 0300 323 0021.
These are specially trained nurses who work in the community to promote good health and well being in all age groups but particularly families with pre-school or disabled children. Our health visiting team can be contacted on 0300 323 0116.
